Please join our 5th IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference, GHTC 2015. GHTC 2015 will celebrate the 70th anniversary of UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. We are expecting over 400 people in attendance including many industrial leaders and other dignitaries.

Since 1945, for 70 years, UNESCO has united people in 197 countries, building peace in the minds of men and women. UNESCO has endeavored through all forms of Education, Science and culture to improve lives through peaceful collaborations.   IEEE, the world’s largest professional organization, we are proud of our mission; Advancing Technology for Humanity.   With our 400,000+ members in 160 countries and our valuable worldwide partners, we are determined to better people’s life in all corners of the world.

The GHTC is the flagship IEEE humanitarian conference. We invite you to join other like-minded people from academia, industries and non-profit organizations, together for presenting, discussing, and developing technological solutions to global humanitarian challenges. GHTC 2015, dedicated to “Advancing Technology for Humanity” will be focused on eight essential areas:

Energy, Health, Disaster Management, Connectivity & Communication, Water & Sanitation, Agriculture and Education as well as Humanitarian Challenges & Opportunities.

In addition to above eight technical tracks, joint with the IEEE Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT), we will have a “Boots on the ground” special track for people to report their real time achievements and lesson learned as they passionately help those in need in all corners of the world.

We are also planning a Hackathon; in which a group of engineers, subject matter experts and creative people will prototype solutions for relevant and important humanitarian challenges. We expect that the open source solutions developed during the conference will be deployed by humanitarian organizations which sponsored challenges.   We welcome you to sponsor challenges or join the Hackathon solution team.

More information on paper submission requirements and deadlines, hackathon challenge statements, registration for the conference, hotel reservations and exhibiting is available on the GHTC website www.ieeeghtc.org.
