GHTC 2018 Student Poster Competition

Saturday, September 8th, 2018

Submission deadline extended to 28-September

IEEE GHTC 2018 invites undergraduate students to submit abstracts for the Student Poster Competition about ideas or designs for developing projects/products supporting the Key focus areas of GHTC.

Selected posters will be featured during the GHTC 2018 Student Poster Session, on Thursday, October 18.

The deadline to submit poster abstracts is midnight US Pacific Time, September 15, 2018 September 28, 2018.
Notification of acceptance will be sent out a week after this deadline.

Cash prizes will be awarded as follows:

Judges Award-$750
Technical Award-$500
People’s Choice Award-$250

GHTC 2015 Student Paper Contest Finalists Announced

The review process for the Student Paper Contest has been completed and the final 5 papers for conference presentation have been selected.

The Top 5 Student Papers selected for conference presentation are as follows: 

  1. Alexander Anderson and team, Washington State University, USA ‘Need Clean Water Here’.
  2. Vijay Kumar and team, Vignan Institute of Technology and Science, India ‘Automatic Vehicle Indicator On/Off’
  3. Bartley Argo and team, University of Central Florida, USA ‘Lifestream Mobile Application: Navigating Transgender Healthcare in Metropolitan Orlando’
  4. Thejus Padmakumar and team, Amrita University, India ‘DTMF based Robotic Arm Design and Control for Robotic Coconut Tree Climber’
  5. Rahul R and team, Vellore Institute of Technology, India ‘Motorized Hand Rehabilitation Device’ 

These papers will be presented in the Student Paper Contest session at GHTC 2015 in Seattle on October 10.

Donate to GHTC Attendee Support

We live in a global community and we need better ways to bring those from third world countries and those less fortunate to our conference which can potentially change their communities for the better. So we want to help by raising funds through donations, donation of any amount – every single $1 makes a difference.

GHTC has established  a fundraising site on Crowdrise to raise funds to help authors and students from third world countries attend GHTC:

Donate and support the attendance by third world authors of outstanding solutions for humanitarian problems.

  • Support the GHTC2014 participation fund which will be used to allow authors and students to attend the conference and showcase their work.
  • Support hands on skills training, such as public speaking for a global audience, writing grants, influencing key decision makers to support your project.
  • Support authors and students to discover ways they can use their engineering skills to improve the quality of life for those around them.
